Thank you for making the decision to facilitate an ASU Faculty-Directed study abroad program!  This toolkit has been designed to give you an understanding of today’s student population that you will need to successfully promote your upcoming program abroad. Additionally, this toolkit outlines the major marketing resources that are available for your use at ASU.

As a Faculty Director, you are the chief recruiter and promoter of your program – a role that requires a considerable amount of time and effort and is essential for obtaining the minimum number of students for your program to run. Faculty Directors must help students understand the benefits of participating in their programs, as well as the academic, career, and personal benefits that studying abroad can provide.  Moreover, faculty need to be approachable to a wide range of students, keeping in mind that the students not only select a program, but also select the faculty leading the program.

The ASU Study Abroad Office will support you in your promotion efforts by holding key events and developing a number of materials for your program. For more information or if you have additional questions about marketing your program, please contact your International Coordinator, or attend a Marketing Workshop.

This website was designed and built by Whitney J Miller during her graduate practicum internship with the Arizona State University (ASU) Study Abroad Office. Whitney received her Master of Arts in International Education Management from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey in 2016 and is dedicated to inspiring cultural awareness through education and international travel.

Created to give ASU Faculty Directors a comprehensive tool to increase and enhance their marketing efforts, Whitney constructed this toolkit to be user-friendly and to outline marketing efforts that can be utilized to recruit ASU students and students at universities across the U.S. through in-person, electronic, social media, and print marketing.
